FrozenCherry.com is home to FrozenCherry Hockey, a fantasy hockey team management game developed by James Romeo. The simulation was developed with PHP and MySQL. To allow the game to expand as membership grows, James used a relational database design. New hockey leagues, hockey teams and hockey players can be added easily to the game world. It was important to develop a back end to handle processes such as game scheduling and simulation, statistics handling, hockey player generation, membership and other aspects of the sport. The front end allows users to browse leagues, teams and players while the site customizes the user experience. The color scheme and information presented on the page changes according to the league the user is viewing, the section they are viewing and whether the user has logged in or not. The goal is to provide the most relevant information to the user in a way that is not overbearing for the casual hockey fan.
